New website! I spent last weekend moving contents from domain sharii.com to new domain machinegolem.com. The move had gone quite smoothly, all things considered. I probably did about 100 google queries a day, but that’s little price to pay.
The reason for the move is because I wanted to get serious about making online comics again. In 2009, I did it as a ‘ok I’ll do it if I had time’ thing while I focused on pursuing print comics. And it didn’t work out at all, this beast needs full attention. While I did host comics on sharii.com, that domain always felt like a personal website to me, and I figured I would do this properly before the contents get too big and end up being a pain in the ass to move.
So, Machine Golem Comics is going to be basically a one-man comics collective. A place where I can put my various comics online, both projects that I have done and projects that I will do, without having to start a new site every time (not to mention that I can’t afford to buy domains for all of them). More comicking and less website tinkering.
I have a simple goal for this site; getting more people to read my comics and remember me. It’s not that I wanted to be uber famous or anything, I’d be happily making comics in relative obscurity if someone would pay me for it, but since that is unlikely—and my livelihood is pretty much depending on how many people know me, pimping is just a part of the job. Something that I slowly begun to learn.
First ever comics to celebrate the new site launch is Pavlov’s Dream mini comics; Sasha’s Lunchtime interview with very important dead people. Which will be a supplementary comic to Pavlov’s Dream main story, where ever that comic ends up at.
